What We Do
As the Kahramanmaraş Tradespeople and Artisans Mutual Aid and Education Foundation (KESYEV), we carry out activities in many areas — from education to project development, from entrepreneurship to international partnerships — to support the economic, social and vocational development of our tradespeople and artisans. Our goal is to support the sustainable development of our region while helping individuals and businesses adapt to a changing world.
Area 1: Sectoral Economic Development Support Programs, Innovation
- Supporting efforts to preserve, brand, and pass on Kahramanmaraş’s traditional crafts (woodcarving, coppersmithing, jewelry-making, etc.) to younger generations.
- Creating alternative markets through innovative approaches to support the commercial life of tradespeople.
Area 2: Tradesperson Social Aid and Solidarity
- Supporting access to material/moral aid mechanisms for tradespeople, artisans and their families during illness, accidents, natural disasters or unexpected crises.
- Modernizing the traditional “Tradesperson Mutual Aid Fund” model under the foundation’s umbrella.
- Scholarship programs for the children of tradespeople and for successful vocational high school/university students.
Area 3: Education and Vocational Development Programs
- Training and vocational development programs for apprentices, journeymen and master craftsmen.
- Supporting access to new markets and the sustainability of tradespeople’s commercial life through training in e-commerce, digital marketing, financial literacy and institutionalization.
Area 4: Increasing Institutional Cooperation Capacity
- Acting as a bridge between chambers of commerce, commodity exchanges and ministries for the sustainability of tradespeople’s commercial life.
- Establishing joint purchasing platforms or tradesperson solidarity networks.
- Increasing resource-generation capacity by establishing partnerships in areas our tradespeople need.
- Maximizing the use of domestic and international grant, support and incentive programs to ensure diverse funding sources for the Foundation’s services.
